If you think that you had a bad day on Inauguration Day, well the President had it worse. While throngs were turned away even when they had tickets and despite all the trip planning, the President had to contend with someone doing his job. Doing his job very loudly that is! It seems like a jackhammer stole the show.
While the President was giving his very historic speech, the moment kept being interrupted by constant BANG, BANG, BANG. While the TV stations were able to edit out the sound, the throngs that packed in tight to watch the big event could only hear a constant drumming in the background.
The event was so frustrating that a couple of times, the "cool" President Barack Obama lost that characteristic trait, even walking off to the side to regain his compose. For no matter how many times that he asked the hardworking man to stop, the jackhammer continued to do its duty.
“Well, I know one guy who doesn’t need a job.” President Obama remarked to try to make a joke out of the situation. But, the drumming didn't stop.
People were beginning to wonder whether somebody like Rumsfield and Cheney were having a field day down the street. For the only two people who seemed to be enjoying themselves were the former President and First Lady. While Obama was ready to have a cow, George and Laura Bush sat behind the podium smiling. It makes you wonder whether or not it was George's actual final act as President.
Gotcha! The Onion has done it again. Made you laugh!
