Do blog titles that ask a question get more response?

By
Home Inspector with Square One Home Inspection

I just had to go with this title. Some of you may recognize its' origin while others may not. I got the idea from reading another members blog where he gave out this bit of advice. I wondered if that were really the case. So, I figured I would just post a new blog with that title. Time will be the judge.

Find all the featured posts, and any other post that has a bazillion comments, and I think you'll see that the answer is yes. Top 10, Top 5, and other such lists also seem to be prone to getting lots of comments. People like to read lists, but the Guinness Book of World Records have known that for about forty years now.

Not sure Ian, I'm trying to figure out the same thing. Seems like the blogs I thought would get little to no traffic are the ones that get the most views. Not sure what works yet, but if you figure it out let me know.

Russel Ray said to tell you he sent us. So there you go.... Russel sent us. Welcome to AR. Glad to see you appear to be on a roll with your blog. Hoping to get to read them all before running out this cold Jan. morning.

Maybe it will catch on, I was just toying with Russel a little on this. And at the same time use his advice. I will Not, I repeat, NOT, be going out in the cold this morning. Dangerously cold wind chills here today. Both inspections for today have been rescheduled, so now I can play in the rain all day if I want.

Need to type in harendog. what's a harendog? Gotta look that one up maybe.

I have no idea what attracts comments.  I'm sure that Russel has tracked this stuff and his answer is probably correct, but on my blogs the comments never seem to follow a formula I can wrap my head around.  As soon as I think I'm on to something the public fools me.  Guess there are too many variables when dealing with people.

Russell is right, questions and lists do seem to get more comments.  I was just reading another blog along these same lines, and I do know that the time frame that you post can also make a difference.  For me morning and afternoon blogs bring more comments than anything else.

Hmm.. apparently .... not.  But maybe if it is the RIGHT QUESTION??? But then, what that is.. I have no clue either. Try asking Charles Buell... he almost always gets a lot of comments.
