Good Words for a Friday in the Rain (5)

By
Industry Observer

I have a selfish confession to make.

While I hope others enjoy and find insight in the "Good Words" series... know that they are not just great quotes.

Today's words, are those of a concentration camp survivor Viktor Frankl. These words, of a man that lived through the worst, inspires and reminds one to choose to grow in life and be the best one can be, regardless of circumstance.

So I confess... I share these words to remind me, and inspire me from where I am at, at this point on my own journey.

Powerful, simple, poignant.

Viktor Frankl is one of my favorite inspirations as well. I cannot even imagine what he suffered and witnessed. He does remind me that it is the meaning that I search for in my life that allows me to withstand the suffering that life often brings. If I am being true to my mission and embodying the principles and values that that statement encapsulates, then I experience a deep sense of meaning which helps me with all the difficult challenges that come my way.

Craig, not only did the quote stop me in my tracks and make me think, I was totally oblivious to the fact that today is Friday.  I need to stop working so hard!

Thanks for the inspiration.

Craig - One of the things I say to the kids all the time till I sound like a broken record is - You may not be able to change the situation, but you can change how you react to it.  They are always like OH no here she goes again, but I think someday it may stick.

Thank you Craig!  Survivors like Victor Frankl set an example for all of us.  We are so fortunate and take for granted so many things in our life.  Very inspiring.

Great quote Craig. Have you ever read "The Night Trilogy" by Elie Wiesel? If not I highly recommend it. It will definitely make you cry. Not me of course because I'm a real tough guy(yea right):)

You... :)

I love these posts and I am sorry I have not been commenting on them. I am just so busy. I have been meaning to tell you that. Now that I have some actual 'down time' it just seems appropriate that I share these thoughts with you.

I so agree that once a situation is out of our control and presents itself as unchangeable, we must look deep inside our own hearts and change ourselves. In my, not so humble, opinion this really is the only way to get through life and keep our sanity :)

Geez. I got the "Turner" Tomato for this comment :)

TLW...ROAR!

Great quote because the only one we can really change is ourselves - it is just easier to point the finger at others and stay the same.
