All of the agents are in today and busy, busy, busy. I know this because we don't have much insulation in our walls, the interior doors are hollow and a couple of us have voices that really carry (my broker!). The phone lines are lit up, cell phones are ringing and both of the gals up front are in. Most of the time I just leave my door open because closing it really doesn't keep down the noise level so what the heck, why be anti-social?! Our office is pretty informal when we don't have any clients around--in fact Kathy just yelled at me to pick up line 2! Line 2 wasn't blinking so I, very professionally, shouted back "there is no line 2!" Her response, also returned in a loud voice, was, "I mean line 1. Just pick up the blinking one!" I know these fancy phone lines cost quite a bit but I'm pretty happy with the old fashioned yell. It works just great for us!
In addition to our high-tech phone system we, and by 'we' I mean mostly me, also utilize a state of the art intercom program. With everyone's doors wide open it's pretty easy to add your two cents and shoot little quips back and forth with good ol' lung power. My neighbors have a good sense of humor, luckily. Of course this behavior is not done when there are clients in the office. They can be such party poopers!
So, the sun is shining, people are in super good moods, business is steady and we are all working together like a finely oiled, if not slightly wacky, machine! Life is good.
