Two Florida Realtor Associations won awards in Realtor Association Executive magazine's “2007 Outstanding REALTOR Association Web Site Contest.” FAR’s member Web site, www.floridarealtors.org , took top honors in the Outstanding Design category. The judges said: “The FAR site is an amazing tool for Realtors. From the opening page, FAR is serving the membership with the tools they need to be successful. From the menu bar to the search bar, I found everything I was looking for without having to ‘look’.” The Pinellas Realtor Organization won in the Outstanding E-newsletter or E-publication category for its online publication of PROView magazine. 2007 FLORIDA LEGISLATURE
Realtors want property tax reform as soon as possible – yesterday would have been great – but they also want it done right, and a one-month waiting period leading to a special session of the Florida Legislature gives lawmakers time to consider the complicated issue. It also gives Realtors an opportunity to meet their lawmakers locally and push for positive and substantial change.

State senators unanimously approved a bill Wednesday that would allow Citizens Property Insurance to expand its operations and freeze its rates through 2008. But two proposed last-minute changes to the Senate bill could bog down its forward movement in the House with renewed debate about letting the state-run insurer become more competitive.
