Elizabeth- 2 dogs and 3 cats and 3 kids too, but thankfully they no longer live at home.

Jim- He's not one yet, more room to grow

Diane- No saddle, but I did tell my husband he needs to get him an orange vest so a hunter won't shoot him thinking he's a deer while we are out walking him.

What a cute idea! I bet your cat didn't even notice how the new little buddy wasn't so little anymore! I have two dogs and three cats and three human children who have flown the nest, too. How do I survive so many pets? Hardwood floors.

Elaine- ah hardwood floors are on my wish list.  And the dogs are definately not at the top of the pecking order, the cats taught them early on who the boss was around here.

Awesome!  Can you tell me how I can get one of my fat cats to shrink? :-)  Without of course having to buy a puppy and wait for it to grow up!

Tammy,

Very cute!  It's nice to have cats and dogs growing up together. They tolerate each other, and I'm sure at times they are each others best friend! Or maybe...worse enemy! ;o)

Susan- I'm glad.

Ann- Poor little kitty my butt, she's in charge of the animals.

Terry- Treadmill?

Steve- yes, Gabby is the world's laziest cat.  In fact playing chase with the dogs is good for her.

Robert- I love to share my family

Toula- Thanks

Michelle- I was really worried, my cats are 7, 6 and 4 years old I thought they wouldn't adjust well to dogs, but since the dogs were puppies and didn't know they could scare cats they were okay and since the dogs were small the cats showed them right away who was the boss.  The dogs have been clawed in the nose a few times.

Bill, they are great friends.  And when the dog doesn't eat at meal time I can call the kitty and she comes and smells his good and then he will eat because he thinks the cat wants his food.

Tammy what a great little family you have.  My hubby and I have no 2-legged kids so we absolutely spoil our 4-legged kids (My "Kids").  I can't imagine life w/o them.  They keep it real for me.  Have a great day.  :)

Tammy, I am sure the cat stands on its own with the dog. I do agree about the hardwoods. Ginger loves to run like she is in a race and luckily the dining room, living room and hallway have hardwoords. Too, with the hair it is so much easier to just swiffer away the aftermath. Cute "kiddies" to keep you company.

Our cat smelling the dogs food also seems to prompt a veracious appetite in the dog.  Interesting psychology at play :~)
