Thanks to everyone for your warm welcomes, how nice was that!

So I hail myself as an "active blogger" then you don't hear from me until now! Well as we all know it's this crazy industry, just when you think you have a moment to do something BOOM clients wants you! And that's been my hectic week. "What, you want me to list your home? But but, I was gonna golf today..."

That said, we are experiencing a kind of strange market right now. I guess it's going back to where it should be or "levelling" off but being a relative newbie (i.e. only selling for four years!) I've only experienced the fantastic market and have to say this change is making me a little nervous! Both on the selling side which is my first love, but also as the Recruiting Manager trying to grow my team of sales reps I just wonder how many there will be still out there as the market changes.

So who out there has some advice for those of us who've really only experienced the "up" market as we head down, and what do you do to sustain your business and remain positive? (Other than reading The Secret on a daily basis...)

Honestly, when the market is down, buyers benefit.  This is their chance to get a place for about 5% less than they would have paid 2 years ago (or two years from now).  So be energetic and work with some buyers.  This is a great time to be enthused about buying a home.  As you mentioned, working with sellers is your love,.....do you think you could move over to "the dark side"?

I was just teaching a class yesterday on this subject and the best advise I can offer you is to work on your relationships.  In real estate they say the three most important things is location, location, location.  In relationships is communication, communication, communication.  Those that you've sold to, those that you've met and get out there and meat more.  In a normal market buyers and sellers go to those they trust and you want to be the first one that comes into their mind when they need your services OR they know someone who does.  Hang in there.

Here's a link by the way to a recording by Earl Nightingale titled The Strangest Secret.  It's a timeless lesson I've enjoyed listing to over and over again.  I hope you enjoy it as well.
