Portland, Oregon used to be the best kept secret when I moved here 8 years ago. But not anymore. Buyers are flocking here from many different states to be part of an environmentally conscious movement that is sweeping our country.
Portland is green. The appreciation for nature existing everywhere from our parks to our gardens. But not just green in a sense of enviroment but in a sense of taking responsibility and playing a role in making it a more sustainable place to live. Our city is filled with a combination of progressive, independently owned businesses and a variety of community-driven neighborhoods that embrace our urban environment. Neighborhoods made up of everything from vintage homes to restored lofts to new green construction. It is a city with soul full of local passions that come in the form of culinary treats and an impressive cultural and arts scene filled with local and international theatre performances, live music, museums, sporting events and a variety of fun and funky festivals. And if thats not enough, we are spoiled with a wealth of options within an hour or two of downtown, as well. Skiing, hiking, beachcombing and wine tasting are all at the tips of our fingers with just a quick jaunt out of town.
Living in Portland is truly a rich experience!
