Buying foreclosures at the courthouse

I am already planning for the first Tuesday in February, which, believe it or not -- is next Tuesday!

I have been tracking foreclosures in Travis, Williamson, Harris and Galveston counties for quite some time. This is such a wonderful way to buy properties for as often as 4% of their market value.  For example, last month someone purchased a $50,000 lot in the central part of Austin for only $2300!

During the decline of the 1980's era, people would buy foreclosed residential properties, often in bulk, then paint them and do other small inexpensive cosmetic repairs, and rent them out. Our market conditions today are very similar to those of the 80's. I watched and learned back then, and now that I am older, I think I am going to join in myself!
