Opened in 1987 the 24,400 square foot facility sits on the border between the Springfield and Burke areas of Fairfax Countyat 6450 Sydenstricker Road
It serves both communities with over 175,000 volumes. There are reading programs for children of all ages and three book clubs.
Interestingly, the popular and well groomed grounds are maintained by a local group of gardeners. Additionally, volunteers contribute 10,000 hours of service annually to the library. The West Springfield Rotary Club (I'm a member) assists with a BLOOD DRIVE at the library every two months.
