Real Estate Broker/Owner with Gordon's Estate Services Ltd., Brokerage

"We chose Gordon's Estate services purely by accident.  I called Alicia Gordon initially to discuss some antique furniture that I wished to have auctioned.  That was my first step in getting ready to sell my home.  To my surprise when Alicia came to visit she explained a new concept in home selling which fit our needs to a tee.  We wanted in.  Within a day or two we met with Barry and Alicia, given a comprehensive package with an explanation of everything we needed to know about the team that would be selling our house for us.  Along with the package, the process was explained clearly and in a manner that was easily understood.  We signed the papers and the work began.  Barry and Alicia went back to the office to get started and we were given some homework of our own to do.  We were pleased to see that our input on how we felt about our house and reasons that we felt it would be a good investment to a prospective buyer were taken into consideration.

Next we met Manson Slik the agent who would be representing us.  He came well equipped with documentation on the present real estate market in our area and how we fit into this market.  We discussed price and when it was all said and done we felt very secure and confident with this man who would be acting on our behalf. We signed the MLS listing with Manson with an effective date 5 days out so the next phase of work could be carried out before the listing was "launched" as Manson put it.

Now we were ready to meet Allyson James and Cathy Gordon, who would help to coordinate the inside of our home.  With ease, grace and a wonderful sense of humor they organized the many items that we had collected over the years, into categories that would be going to new owners, to auction and items that we would be keeping.  They displayed our home to show it in its best light and to emphasize all of its wonderful features.  Allyson and Cathy made what would have been an enormous and stressful job for me, come together with ease.  Once the job was done they came through the house for one final inspection before the house was to be listed.  This time they brought Kate Innes, Marketing Coordinator to market and advertise our home and property.  She did such a beautiful job in seeing our house and writing about it, that I was touched.  She is a true professional.

I felt that it was important to give a description of what each member of the team does and how our transition came together.   By the time the house was listed on MLS we had met with each member of our team, we had a home inspection,  the floor plans done,  we completed the Seller Property Information Statement, and a history of our taxes, zoning, list of improvements, age of infrastructure items and utilities costs was assembled.

Our description of our Gordon's team was that of a" well oiled machine".  They worked together, they knew what the other members of the team were doing at a given time, their communication skills were tremendous, and we always felt that we were in the loop and part of the team.  Every real estate transaction should be as simple and non-stressful as the Gordon's team has made it.  They have a wonderful work ethic and we felt that they were exuberant and hard working to make our transition a smooth one.  When I think of the Gordon's team I will always remember their smiling faces and easy manner. Now they are going to sell our extra things at their auction centre, pack us up, move us, help us unpack and clean our house for us, ready for the new owners.

When asked if we would recommend Gordon's to others, we would and we have.  We can't believe our good fortune in finding this team of individuals.

We sincerely wish to thank Barry, Alicia, Manson, Allyson, Cathy, Kate and the rest of the team for a job well done." Sharon Esford, 219 Mack Street (January 30, 2009 - Kingston, ON)
