NOT your ordinary home for sale on 10 ordinary acres - It's a MUST SEE!

This is a true Florida gem.  I have to admit that it is so hard to visualize the beauty of the landscape of this property in the photos.  I will do my best to describe everything in my words on this post.

This home sits on 10.88 acres just 15 minutes west of Gainesville, Florida.   The property is gated and perimeter fenced and you will be surrounded by nature at it's best.  The privacy of this home & property is hard to find so close to all the city feel of Gainesville.

The MAIN home is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath with 1,661 sq ft.  This BRICK home was built in 1994 and there is a nice story about this property that I will share with you all in the photos.

MLS# 300866           $ 359,000   REDUCED to $ 279,000    You won't be disappointed - Please take the Tour.

The love for this home and property is shown everywhere.  And these photos show the detailed brick entry way.

It's all about Natural Light in this home.  The open floor plan, fireplace, and skylights in vaulted ceiling.

Great Room with a View Fireplace

The Kitchen has a center island, plenty of cabinets and counter space.  The view of the ravine from the kitchen sink is wonderful.   The breakfast nook with a view too.

Now here are some outside view of the the home and extensive rear & side decking that overlooks the largest ravine/quarry.  (And remember - this is the main home).

There is a rock lined walkway to the second home, which is a 1998 Double-wide Mobile home.  Neither home can be seen from the other.  All appliances stay with both homes, including washer dryer.  Each home has it own well and septic system.  And each Home has beautiful view of the quarries and spectacular Florida landscape.

2nd Home on Property 2nd Home's Kitchen

The history of the old quarries in the west side of Alachua County goes back to the 1890's when phosphate mining was the new frontier in Florida.  The mining industry was cut short with World War I and our Florida landscape is now left with amazing ravines and quarries with huge oaks growing in the base.  These are not sink holes.   The deepest quarry on this property is 40' and there is not water in them.  You would have to be at least 50' deep to hit the aquifer of water here.   This property has walking trails in the quarries, and one has a huge camphor tree in the base with a big swing.  The rock walls and ferns growing everywhere are just beautiful.

The original owners built a Viewing Bridge.  He often let people use it for weddings.  It's a beautiful place!

There is MORE to this property.  There are several outbuildings.  One is an older 2 story farm barn that has lights and power.   There is a pole barn that is currently used as the place to chop firewood and store it there.  There is a 20' x 20' Workshop with 220v power, welding connection, 5hp compressor & water.  Beside that is a large covered parking area for your tractor or Boat.  Behind that covered parking area is an even larger shop  26' x 36' Metal building.  These buildings would serve any business owners needs.

It's so rare to find a property that offers TWO HOMES with outbuildings in the Gainesville area.

TWO Homes on 10.88 Acres with multiple outbuildings.....PRIVATE.....Natural Florida setting....Beautiful Florida landscape.....all for $ 359,000. REDUCED on 10/14/09 to $ 279,000    Don't you want to take a look?

Hi Christine, this home in the woods with all the land around it and so close to the city offers a peaceful retreat for anyone desiring quiet. Great all around photos too.

Well, I just tried to convince my boyfriend that we need to move here, but he wouldn't go for it. :( :(  This is MY type of property; I just love it!!  You have a GREAT price on here and whoever buys this place is going to be very lucky indeed.

I guess I'll just have to keep the property in mind for people other than me...sigh...  The virtual tour is fantastic and the bridge is so so cool.  The 2nd home is a total bonus - what an awesome place for the "man cave" or a guest cottage, mother-in law quarters - so many more uses.  This place has a lot of character and the property itself is beautiful with all the trees and ravines.  Best of luck on this one!

Angela - This is a "one of a kind"!  I told my husband that if we had found this home when we moved up here, we would have bought this property.  Please go take a preview of this one for your buyers.  I am going to plan a broker-open/lunch soon in hopes of getting Realtor out to see this one.

Christine - Please shoot me an e-mail and let me know when you decide to have the open house and I would like to attend if my schedule permits.  I can't get over this property!  I have watched the virtual tour 3 times just pining away from it.  It's seriously my dream house - I am all about the quarries and that type of landscape, as well as being on the outside of the city with some land.  It's just a little too soon for us to move right now or we would seriously be considering this house because it meets every single criteria we want!  I'd like to come to the open house to torture myself ahahaha.  Also, the wallpaper in the master is the same wallpaper I have in my hall bath so I tried to tell my boyfriend it was fate lol.

Interesting property Christine.  I hope you get a lot of interest.

I sure miss that area, (except in the winter!) but will probablly see more of it in upcoming years. I graduated from GHS & 2 of 4 daughters from UofF. Spent time with my late spouse at Shands and Hope Lodge as needed from 1995-2007. They are a true blessing!  My family's cemetary is at Arredonda, close to Kanapaha Gardens. I lived on Lake Alto growing up. Had to settle mom's estate when she died and sell that home, so I decided to take the real estate course a few years later.

One daughter and her family are moving from Ft Worth to Winter Springs the 25th of this month.  :-)        Her in-laws and other family are also in G'ville so I know we will have some family gatherings there..

I always enjoy seeing and selling interesting and unique properties, especially if they offer a view. Good luck with this one!
