My Mobile Office...

By
Real Estate Agent with Edina Realty

Filled with carseats and all things kid, I admit that I would never have clients ride in my car for simple fear of them sitting on a half-chewed cracker and having it stick to their butt.

That being said.... It's really a good thing that it's starting to warm up around here. I REALLY need to take the time to clean out my mobile office and soon. If I don't people driving down the road are going to be able to see what kind of pigpen I'm allowing myself to live in.

It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't toss used water bottles in the back seat and extra uneeded papers on the seat beside me. When I open the side doors to get my kids into their seats and empty bottles tumble out the back it's a little embarrassing!

Yes, my mobile office needs a clean. I'll admit it.

The signs that sit in the far back have dragged dirt and mucky ice/snow into the car giving it the need for an interior bath.

Hours of endless driving past homes with kids snacking in the back leaves crumbs and things that are no longer identifiable. (If we got a dog it would take care of that issue, but then I'd have dog hair everywhere!)

And, like I said before, endless empty water bottles and papers floating around. An occasional something stuck frozen to the floor because it got wet from the constant melting and drying action that happens when you start the car in the winter.

It's a good thing that the weather is nice today and hopefully tomorrow. I might be able to tackle the job and lose some of the embarrassment that I feel every time I leave my driveway!

If you are looking for professional real estate services I am only a ring away! I am looking forward to working with you.

I agree with that.  My van is always in need of interior TLC.  Also my garage.  They both become a landing spot for a 'quick drop off, and let's get inside it is cold' operating basis.

Lindsey - I, too, have felt that that way when my car doors are open and exposed to bystanders.  I have three offices - each 30 minutes away from my main office, and I teach a class out of town.  I constantly have papers, notes, water bottles, tennis shoes, my tennis racquet, and during the winter months - my ski apparel in the car with me - not to mention lockboxes, real estate signage and the usual necessary accessories for conducting open houses, and business.  Yikes - I work hard at keeping it organized, but it can get away from me from time to time. Fortunately the car seats are long gone! :)

Every single day I tell myself today I'll clean out my car and organize it. And every single day here lately it has either been raining or we have had temperatures between 95 and 100. I'm thinking about waiting until things cool down.... which in south Texas means November or October if we are lucky.

Nell. That's about the way of it. It's all about the weather... which is exactly why mine is always dirty.

While my car is not a mess, there won't be many times where there won't be papers on the front seat.  These have to be relocated so the seat can be occupied.  I make no excuse about it because they have been warned about my mobile office.

Latonia - Papers are meant to be seatbelted into our front seats! While I drove the Traverse for a month I seriously had to take things off the front seat so that it recognized that I didn't have a passenger there. :) Kind of made me laugh!

Me too!

I don't have a lot of trash in the car but it needs to be cleaned for smudges and dust! I asked my husband to put "RainX" on my windshields and he left them all smudgy.

Coming to you Texas,,,

Funny Sussie. This week my car needs more than a dust! I'd better hurry up before it's too cold or it's gonna be too late until spring. LOL

Am guilty of similar!!  I take it one step further, however.  As an organized effort, I put my folders/papers in the seatbelt so they won't fly all over the place.  Lol

I guess as a South Floridian, I really don't have an excuse not to clean the car.  Expected high in West Palm Beach today is 81 degrees.

My car is always clean you sound like my daughters car...we can never go anywhere in it only two seats clean in that car the baby seat and the drivers seat! Try putting a wal mart bag in the car to throw away the junk daily then the mess is confined to the bag!
