Eye Sore - Vertical Blind Issue

By
Home Stager with First Fruit Holdings
The vertical blinds in this eat-in area needed help ASAP! The privacy was necessary and soft flowing curtains were not appropriate here. Nor did the budget allow a more suitable replacement.

After the wall color was neutralized, I sewed up a valance to soften the look. The valance was the brilliant idea of fellow AR member Susan Cunningham. Here is the final look:

Cindy, This added the softness needed for the area along with the paint color change. Looks Great!

While I love BLUE, this room was truly enhanced by the paint being changed.  And the blinds, well yes, they look much better, actually as a backdrop once you placed items and closed them.

I have to agree that the biggest change was the paint color.  The treatment on the blinds was a good touch, however.  I am also not a fan of verticle blinds, though sometimes I can see when they serve their purpose.

Great job on the valance, it really made a difference.  That blue was a bit much to have to get past!

Thanks everyone for the positive comments! <P>

Yes, the blue was very distracting.  The new paint and new lighting gave the room such a peaceful feeling.  I'm not a fan either of vertical blinds but the valance definitely gives a little more "designer" detail.
