Grey Skies Looming Need Not Dampen Your Spirit

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty 0575737

Old BarnMany in real estate practices see ominous clouds on the horizon depite whatever new plans they are working on for the new year. But

Grey Skies Looming Need Not Dampen Your Spirit.

There will always be some tough times in your life. Like the ocean tides, life has its ebbs and flows. Go with the flow. Be flexible. Find what does work and do that. This too shall pass but until it blows over, batten down the hatches a bit.

Neon BikeDo you know what joy is? It is something underneath, buried in your core that you can hang on to on your good days and your worst of days. It is a trust that things in the end will be all right. It is peace and serenity.

It is found by knowing what you can't control. It is there by counting up more of your blessings than focusing on what you don't have. It is felt from those in your life that you can laugh with, talk with, and cry together with. Someone who accepts YOU as YOU and not some job as your identity.

Think of your uncrushable spirit as riding a neon colored bike.

Sounds silly doesn't it? Riding some crazy colored bike out in the storm. But rainbows follow storms. And you may as well have good feelings inside till you get to that next sunny day.

Never lose your good spirit, your sense of wonder, your "hope" and trust that all will be fine eventually. You may take a punch or two and fall on the mat from time to time. But get back up. You've got a neon colored bicycle to ride and to share your smile with others that have fallen too.

Gary, I have so many blessings in my life that I can't let real estate get me down. It is so much more challenging now but we'll survive.

Listening to your Needs

Be positive, its the better choice. The slowdown is giving people more time to discover things they like to do. Bring your hobby to work. God knows we have been a luckly generation. Actually sit down and talk to people about thoughts and feelings. New Orleans is great for that. Let the music play!

How would some of you like to be drafted and headed to Afganistan or some far off land.

Gary - There will be some bad times but it is all about how you deal with the situation, dwelling on the negative stuff will never uplift or provide an inspiration.

Hey Gary... thanks for a very nicely re-framed half-full/half-empty perspective.  BTW, I totally LOVE storm clouds and rain ~ but I've experienced tornadoes dropping down out of those suckers too.  It's all in how we look at it.  Thx again!

I am a firm believer that a sense of humor is one of the best tools we can have to survive any upset.  Mine is always intact.  :)

Now .. about those neon colored bikes ... would you happen to know where I could get one?  I'd love to shake up the locals with one of those.  heeheehee

Gary—I dont have a neon colored bike, but I do have a neon yellow kayak! My friends call it my "banana boat." I love my kayak and paddling around in it whether it's in a pond, lake or ocean. I am always happy when I'm in my kayak. Whenever I'm having a tough day I flash back to one of my paddling experiences and everthing brightens. We all need our "good spirit, our sense of wonder, our "hope" and trust that all will be fine eventually," with us at all times! Great post—thanks for your continued inspiration.

Eric: So true, things could be worse. Talking with people and listening to music slows things down so we can hear the rhythm of life.

Jennifer: Right you are, that it is REACTION to events that is most important.

Randy: Storms brewing in the sky are fascinating to me to. You just know there's a lot of energy getting set to be released on your head.

Carol Smith: On the bikes I suppose you could search around the web or ask a bike store. You would definitely stand out with them. Glad your sense of humor is intact. It's great to have that.

Dorie: I know what you mean that the news seems to be the beat of bad times.

Sharon: Thank you for your kind words as always. You are a treasure to all of us too!! ; )

Peggy: So smart are you. Your attitude is ALWAYS your choice. Who wants to be a grump anyway!

Linda: I will have to get one of those wild colored "banana boats." How would that be to get into that baby each day? Talk about knocking all the stress out of your life... Great sharing Linda!!

Sandy Nelson: So true about the sun being there and coming out after the clouds pass.

Pat Preston: Awesome Sunshine on my Shoulder... how'd you know I was a big John Denver fan? You are getting to know me too well Pat : ) You are ALWAYS making me smile, you know it?? Thx!!

Sandy Shores: Counting those blessings will never allow yourself to be anything other than thankful.

Gary - Followed by every grey sky and stormy day is a blue sky and a sunny day.  If we view bad times as temporary, it's easier to get through the days, weeks, months for a better tomorrow. This too, shall pass.
