New businesses in the Charlotte Area

There are two new businesses that are relocating to the Charlotte area - an oil refinery, that will move to chester county and a marketing firm that will target nascar teams.

The NASCAR business is a marketing firm that wants to help racing companies get their names and brands out to the public. Even though the racing industry is facing some pretty serious budget problems, the owner of the company is taking a risk and expanding a business. He is setting up shop right next door to the race teams in Mooresville NC. For a marketing company, this may make good sense. In an economic downturn, it doesn't make sense to stop advertising or stop doing what you were doing in times of plenty to get the word out to potential customers, although it is more difficult because of leaner budgets. You must fight harder for the people who have extra money left over to spend it and spend it with you. If that isn't his sales pitch, it should be.

The other business is a oil recycling plant that will be located in Chester SC. The business journal says that it partnered with a Rock Hill businessman to bring that plant to SC. The plant will be 50 miles from Charlotte and bring 25 jobs or so. In this economy, creating jobs any way it is possible is a great idea.

It is good to hear about other business owners stepping out and doing what it takes to stay in business.  Good for you that there may  be new clients moving to your area.

How is that market snapshot working for you? Is it easy to get clients to sign up for it?

May your business shine in 2009!

Brian - It is good news to hear of business moving in that will provide a few new jobs.  The addition will also have an impact on other businesses such as: restaurants, dry cleaner etc.
