While the social media buzz continues to fill the web more and more people find themselves falling into the typical behavior that caused email to turn into a headache rather than a convenience.
Spamming
I put together a list of 5 important things you should never do in social media marketing.
- You list no location, no website, no bio, or no picture in your profile
- You participate in consistent arguing and mean-spirited opinions in your posts, discussions, or Twitter stream
- You do not engage in any conversation with your friends or followers
- You do nothing but post advertisements for your product or service on every wall, post, tweet, update, and note.
- Be dishonest
Be yourself, be genuine and be honest and watch your social network grow exponentially. People have to be sold on you before they would ever want to do business with you. Don't expect overnight success from your efforts because relationships take time.
