Tip from Hobie:
I find that I am too busy to read all the magazines or if I find an article, there is not enough time to go through it or act on it at the time. Then it gets lost and eventually thrown out, b/c I don't remember which page/month/name of article. So, in the end it is lost.
HOW TO OVERCOME THAT?
Two ways I've found. The first is to simply cut out the article and put it aside. Problem? Finding it again in the pile of papers. Second way. Circle the beginning of the article on the page. Next write the page on the front of the magazine. Put the magazine in the pile. A pile of magazines doesn't get lost as easily as a pile of papers. Next, when I have time or remember that I want desperately to find that article, I look through the magazines (I have just enough memory left to remember which type of magazine I found the article in) read it, do what I want with the info, then cross out the page number on the front. If there are no other 'open' articles waiting in that edition, OUT GOES THE MAGAZINE FOR RECYCLING. If I go through a magazine and there are no worthwhile articles, it does not go in the pile of 'roundtoits', rather it goes for recycling immediately. This helps keep me more efficient, but perhaps more important, it helps keep the spouse off my back for cluttering as much.
