Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty will be flying in to the Brainerd airport on Memorial Day after ceremonies are held at Fort Snelling in St. Paul. He will be giving a short speech in Fort Snelling and then proceed on to the next event at the Nisswa American Legion.
The General Bruce Carlson will be the key speaker for the Nisswa event. Carlson was a 1967 graduate of the Brainerd High School and a member of its Hall of Fame as of 2001. Presently he is serving as the commander of Air Force Materiel Command at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio. Joining him will be the former state Senator Don Samuelson , delivering a tribute to the veterans of all wars, and the present Mayor of Nisswa, Brian Lehman who is to give a tribute to Nisswa veterans.
The Nisswa ceremony will begin at noon on May28th at the Nisswa American Legion.
