The Charleston Regional Business Journal recently released a set of Interactive Real Estate Maps allowing viewers to see 2008 Foreclosure Rates per South Carolina County and Home Sales in the Lowcountry (Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester Counties) since 2005. The Homes Sale map displays Regional Data and County Data and includes the number of homes sold, the average days on market, and median home prices.
Although home sales have decreased and average days on the market have increased in Charleston County since 2005, the median home price has gradually increased. While it's nice to get a quick visual of the Charleston area real estate trends, it's important for both buyers and sellers to realize there is more to the Charleston real estate market than just these statistics.
