Now is the Time to Buy! So where is everyone at?

For those that have been waiting on the sidelines, now is the time.  Interest rates are great, prices are great, and there is a great selection of properties.

So, whats the hold up?

Why are new buyers scared to enter the market?

Please advise on your markets? Whats Moving? Who's Buying? What bargins are available?

In our small metro area, prices have not taken the huge up and downs that some of the larger areas have, but for some reason the percetion is the same.

I am looking to hear from some people in other areas, besides the top 10 you always hear about.

Hello Adam.  In north GA business isn't slow, it's stopped.  While we haven't seen the dramatic declines in prices seen in some areas, buyers are very scarce.  I live in an 8,000 acre, lake community where the developer completed the next phase last summer.  Thus far, about 10 homes have been built, and only a couple sold. I don't see signs of any improvement this year.

We have to combat the media's need to take the negative spin.  The market here is doing very well and we are already seeing the upturn.  Now more than ever we have to know the numbers

Here in Cleveland, we are seeing a decent amount of bank owned homes and others sell in the more desirable suburbs. It seems that perhaps some buyers are taking advantage of the low prices and great rates. There are those also that probably feel that they can get a better deal if they buy in the winter. It's too early to tell if there is a trend but it is certainly encouraging.

In our Quad Cities Iowa market I would definatly say that things are picking up, but I believe that part of the reason is that there are less agents to call.  Recently we had some crazy cold weather, but once that broke I am seeing a drastic increase in showings and buyer calls.  I just want a way to get the first time homebuyers back in the market to allow those with homes to sell to move on to there next, more expensive, property.
