This winter has not been kind to roofs, particularly here in Maine. I am sure other parts of the country are feeling it too...
We are seeing an unprecendented amount of snow and ice on roofs. the Ice damming is 4-8" thick or more on some homes. When this ice freezes, it backs moisture up under the shingles, ultimately into your attic, ceilings and walls... causing staining, rot and potentially MOLD...
Get out there now and rake or shovel your roofs...
The added weight can cause structural damage as well... especially if the load is compounded by rain which was threatened this week.
If you cannot get out there yourself, ask a friend or family member... or if you can, hire someone to get up there and clean it off... do some research, make sure they are insured.
