Vail is such a beautiful area...I haven't been able to go snowboarding yet this season. Looks like I'm missing out on some great snow!
DEBBIE, It snowed every day my daughter was there. Actually I take that back there was one day that was kind of clear and that happened to be the day they went dog sledding. She had a GREAT time!
WILLIAM, My friend that has the house in Vail also has a condo in San Diego directly across the street from the San Diego Yacht club. She stopped in here this last weekend and is now in San Diego for a month. I'm glad to hear that she is going to have some great weather while there.
JASON CROUCH, Having lived in the elements most of my life (until we moved here 12 years ago) I am happy to look at it in pictures. It is so pretty but I always think of all that shoveling, the ice and then the melt down. I LOVE THE PICTURES THOUGH!!!
GERRY, That is EXACTLY what I loved about that picture also. She took some great photos but this one just popped out at me. When we were looking we said it would make a great marketing piece for Vail so I did just that.
JASON NEWMANN, My daughter thought it was crowded buy my friend said it was not so I guess it is a matter of perspective.
CYNTHIA, She had a wonderful 27th birthday. Cool thing was that she was able to use her miles to get there. As an International flight attendant it is cheaper to send them to the plane than to bring the plane to them so she racks up lots of flight miles. Now I ended up going to pick her up in Dallas during an ice storm so she could come home for a few days after this trip before her next trip but that's another story.
RUSSELL, Personally I love to go to Vail during the summertime but I'm not a huge skier and love the warm weather over the cold.
SHIRLEY, I would love to sit with you in the lodge. Now I am thinking about going next year but it will be to go on the dog sled ride. They said that was spectacular. I look down that hill and my heart goes to my throat.
PATRICIA, My daughter said there were a lot of snowboarders out there but she stuck with skiing since she had a limited time and it has been 14 years since we went skiing last.
Hi Marchel, made me feel just like home! We have colder than cold! This past January was the coldest it has been for the past 15 years. Nice photo Marchel.
Man that looks like so much fun! My daughter just called from Appalachian State. She was on her way out with friends to hit the slopes. Im jealous. Cool picture.
Hmmm... Lots of snow. People standing around really cold. That could be Michigan!
Kathy
GARY WHITE, It does not remind me of home but I thought it was a REALLY cool picture. I love the way the colors pop out from the snow.
VICKI, We lived in North Carolina for a couple of years and that was the last time our daughter had been skiing before this. That would have been over 12 years ago. Wow time flies.
KATHY, Gary was just talking about how cold Michigan has been also.
This looks like so much fun. My son's been wanting to play in the snow, and we get so little here.
Hi Marchel - Having been a one-ski-vacation-a-year person - on a day like that, it would have been shopping or sipping by a nice warm fire. I must say, the kids don't seem to mind a bit :-)
Wow, that is some snow.....I would love to see some. It has been years since we've had more than just a few flurries!
I guess good old "Phil" , the groundhog (I cannot pronounce or spell his first name) was right about the extra 6 weeks of winter in Vail
Hi Marchal, After getting down below zero this am it's going to be in the upper 40's on sat. WooHoo! Spring won't here here any too early for me & my horses.
CHRISTINE, I guess the good thing about where you live is that you don't have to drive far to find snow. Here in Spring I have met people who have never seen snow. I love seeing pictures of the white stuff but I REALLY don't miss all the clean up.
GAIL, I have to be honest I'm the sipping by the fire girl.
ANN, Last year we went to Colorado and had a white Christmas. It was so magical but I must say when the clean up came around I was happy to fly home.
JAMES, I expect Vail will be dancing for joy about an extra 6 weeks of winter.
MARIAN, I remember that zero stuff, it is when your nostrils freeze and the inside of your window is frosting over. When we lived in Colorado and they said Artic air I just wanted to put my head under a pillow.
JOAN, My daughter had a great time!! She took this picture with her new canon point and shoot. I thought it turned out wonderful for that type of camera.
LYNN, I have to give my daughter credit for this one. She has a wonderful eye.
TERI, We got her a new Canon point and shoot for Christmas. It is similar to her Rebel digital XTi but small so she can put it in her pocket. I'm glad to see she is already making good use of it.
Marchel: I wouldn't mind going to Vail... if it wasn't for all that snow, and the frosty cold temperatures. But the fireplace at the lodge... I bet that would be very, very nice. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, Marchel! This looks like a very fun day on the slopes! Great shot!
Debi
KAREN ANNE, We could hang out beside the fire together. This is my daughter's picture and I love the picture but I have to be honest I DON'T miss the elements.
LYNN, I have to give the credit for that picture to my daughter. She took some wonderful pictures but that was one that just stood out to me. I love the way the colors pop out from the white.
DEBI, It is my daughter's picture and she had a wonderful time. She was fortunate that it was not very cold while she was there. Now of that Artic stuff anyway.
