The City Council has just completed the budgeting process, and is currently working on several important projects for the city

The council directed staff to complete an application to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection for a FERDAP grant to upgrade Gene Clary Park. (An FERDAP Grant was used in the initial establishment of the park.) The current grant request includes an upgrade to the ball fields and several other much needed projects. While there is no guarantee that the projects will be funded, the staff is hopeful.

City staff will also be reporting to the Council on the condition of the water system. The current system has been working well, and is still meeting the needs of the City. However, with a number of customers being added in the last few years, the system is in need of upgrades. The staff is currently working with the FDEP to secure assistance for some of the projects. The goal is to make the most of every dollar by combine fees from upcoming development with programs available through the FDEP.

The Council regularly meets twice a month on the second and fourth Thursday, at 7:00 pm. Special meetings are scheduled as needed. Drop in; your participation is always welcomed.
