 If content is KING, then crown yourself today... If this post is not featured, I am going away....LOL

Seriously folks here is the bottom line....new informative content on any website gets you great Google Juice. It is fantastic for the website developer as they get top dollar for advertising/sponsorhips, etc., but it is also great for us AR bloggers as many of our blogs come up on the first page of Google.

This is what AR wants and of course this is what WE want....So this is what you call a WIN/WIN situation.

I recently posted a blog about What the White House would appraise for in today's market. Check it out, pretty funny and some great commentary too!

( I was really surprised this one did not get featured, but I digress) When I went to Google and typed in White House appraised value...BINGO up come my blog on Active Rain in the number 1 spot almost right away! Even my Examiner.com blog on this subject was below Active Rain's  It showed up in number 4. See Google search results below!

So if you want to promote your business, make sure you think about your title....number one, then include some unique, informative content that not every Tom, Dick and Harry is writing about. Make it good, make it special, make it different and I can just about guarantee you will be on the first page of Google for your header topic.

Under Google Search for Lake Lanier Appraiser,  I come up number 5 for my Active Rain Blog in way less time than it took me to rise to the number 1 spot for organic searches in Google from my own SEO work.

So thanks AR and keep up the good work, we are all benefiting from this! It's a good thing as Martha Stewart would say!

I agree all this fresh content is amazing for our hits someone told me the other day the used me because I occupied 7 of the top 10 spots on the search they did.

I still think they should sell the white house and relocate the capital to Montana.  They could use a little stimulus to the economy there.

What you are referring to is the "long tail" effect. The more obscure a phrase the chances are higher you can rank high for that phrase faster. Now if you write a post called real estate you will never find it on Google.

Hey Mary, I used to work for an Appriaser in Cartersville named Don Mahafey, and he later joined up with his daughter Susan Mahafey and I have lost track of them.  Do you know where they are?

Eveylyn: Do not know Don. I do not cover that area in Georgia. Maybe you can check the Georgia Real Estate Appraiser Board and look him up that way. You can put his name in the registry to see if you can find him.

Smithsonian, sounds good! On a side note I hear your unemployment rates are around 15% uugghhh! Rough times ahead for sure.

Great tips, Mary.  While I'm still new at this, I will keep my thoughts re: title content as a guide when creating my next post.  Thanks so much.  I thought to comment on your White House link above, but it's really way out of my league.  Wow, David Hintz - AZAppraiser, he's a kick.
