The element of surprise!
I think that is the essential reason I love being in Real Estate. Sure there are other reasons, but if I had to choose the one most important reason I get up in the morning and function as a Realtor, I would undoubtedly say this is the one.
To illustrate my point here's a scenario or situation that I'm sure a lot of you have experienced:
You get up in the morning full of energy and zest for life, make your morning coffee, turn on your computer hoping to see that email from your buyer that says they want to place that offer or the email from a fellow Realtor that has an offer for one of your listings attached, etc. only to find no such emails or worse yet, the exact opposite kind of email. You go through the day with no new leads, quite a few rejections and an increasing feeling of anxiety mixed with resolve, of course (after all, resolve is what keeps us going in hard times, right?). So you go to the gym at the end of a long, seemingly unproductive day to relieve some of the stress. When you return home you instinctively go to the computer, check your email and BOOM!.........there's that great offer, contract, or prospect that you've been working so hard for!
The Real Estate business includes many hilltops and valleys. The hilltops provide wonderful views, but the valleys sure do make these views more enjoyable!
