Red Rocks

Red Rocks AmphitheaterThe Denver metro area has a natural amphitheater situated in the foothills.  It is surrounded by red rocks and looks out toward the city and the plains.

Concert goers here experience the near perfect acoustics and a spectacular view.

Tonight we went to hear Sheryl Crow, this photo does not do the venue justice. Camera's were not allowed, so I could not photo journal the amazing sound and light stage, the excitement of the crowd in this awesome venue.

If you ever have an opportunity to go to Red Rocks, take it.

Red Rocks is one of the many wonderful settings the Denver metro area has to offer.

Kristal, I was in Denver in 1970 and loved it. Its very beautiful there. Although I imagine it has changed greatly since then. But one thing I remember most is the people. They were all very friendly.

Holy Hippie Freaks Batman :-)

I thought I'd leave a comment about shows I saw there, and then to see Scott mention seeing the Dead there was a surprise. I was there too Scott, last Dead shows at Red Rocks Aug 11,12,13 1987. Followed the next night by Neil Young. I've also seen Allman Brothers and Phish there. It is the most awesome venue I've ever been to. An experience everyone should experience.

Hi Kristal,

I just saw Sheryl Crow and John Mayer here in an open air theater (great show!)

but the former Tweeter Center lacks a bit of the drama of Red Rocks...

Deadheads must go everywhere!

Karen, Why do you think they call it "Red Rocks?"  :)  The rocks are nearly straight up and very high.  They surround the seating, making the sound the most amazing you have ever heard.

This is the most amazing place to see a show!  I've seen many performers here that were 10 times better due to the setting.

If you're up for a really workout, then run the stairs during the day!
