Ice Storm! I live at The Summit in Owensboro KY. If you haven't heard Ky has been declared a Natural Disaster Area. We are the lucky ones, in many ways. We got our power back on Sat night. Some are still without power. The storm hit Mon night and Tues night. It got down in the teens. We have gas             waterheater, stove and fireplace. See luckier than most. I found out you can survive, as long as you have water.

But to get to the fun part. We (12 or 13 adults) had breakfast at one home. Then around 4pm we would have dinner at another home. All contributing in food and any other thing (like shoveling snow) Then by candlelight and lanterns we would play games. We played sequence and trivial pursuit.  We are tied in trivial pursuit 1 to 1. Girls against the guys of course. Then sometimes we would just sit by the fire and talked. The lord does work in mysterious ways.

So if you want to live in a great community come to Owensboro KY.

Hi Diana~  I am so glad you posted!  You are so lucky!  It sounds like the Summit really IS a GREAT place to live in Owensboro, KY.  As far as I know, nothing like that happened in our neighborhood :(  I did at least check on my neighbors.  My husband and I did listen to a great christian radio station for five nights and that was actually really great!  I did NOT miss the TV, but I must admit, I really missed the Internet!  Vickie
