Kathleen - and it was just in August when the administration was touting just how well the stimulus was working. The only things this package stimulated was government spending with no net increase in revenues.
Thank you for posting this. We are on the brink of economic destruction unless people with common sense get control of the reins.
We will stay in this downward spiral until someone is brave enough to make the tough decisions. And I am not talking about raising taxes. Stop spending now!
As famous Minnesotan, Bob Dylan said, "Don't criticize what you can't understand." The stimulus bill, although it may have been imperfect, was necessary to avoid a depression, and it worked. Much of what has not been "spent" is the portion of the bill that was a tax reduction over thirty months.
President Obama truthfully stated that the economic crisis would deepen considerably before it improved. The stimulus was a successful attempt to prevent a total economic meltdown. It would have been proposed and implemented by the other candidate, had he been successful in his persuit of the Presidency.
What does your title have to do with your post? Are you trying to accuse someone of lying? If so, why not do it?
I do not believe the stimulus bill and spending has worked to create jobs or improve the economy. While the White House like to say that it has, one look at the jobs report tell a differnet story. Take a look at the financial numbers for our country right now, and you will quickly find that we are not on the way up anytime soon. Many business failures to go.
Ok. Ej or Mike I will say it. Obama and the media, quit telling me lies. The truth is too obvious right now.
Great Post. I have seen no evidence of the stimulus helping the economy. Time to stop the lies and correct the problems. Americans are starting to realize they have been lied too and are not very happy about it!!!!
I thought that it was TARP that was needed to avoid a depression, and is being touted as such. I have never heard the administration state that the stimulus bill avoided a depression.
So what do you suggest? Are you presenting idea's or just commentary. We as Americans can continue to blame the current administration left to clean-up the mess caused by numerous years of unchecked spending, false wars, crippling medicare commitments etc? Or should we rally around the same political group that helped create this mess? Or maybe we as Americans should stop our insatiable appetite for instant gratification and results and give the country and administration time to get this fixed. Now Now Now! Stimulus has added thousands of jobs to those that would not have them w/o it. That is a plain old fact. Ask a teacher, cop or construction worker who has the stimulus to thank for their job. This attitude that all things can be fixed immediately is a joke. When has any government ( no matter who is in charge) done anything quickly and efficiently. Why not help start a thought process of working together than the same old you lie, they lie crap that has created a wedge. Education people, Education.
From an Independent who twice voted Bush and since Obama ( so the "typical democratic rebuttal" does not work here)
Lets encourage thought and action rather than fear mongering. That game is so old
#10, Flag, I would have been disappointed if you hadn't shown up with another of your babbletudes. It's your forte. My suggestion to you is to get your best stuff in print as soon as possible. The economy is on the brink of improving to the level that even you and the other "flat-earthers" will be unable to deny.
Flag, you are telling lies. The fact that you wish they were true is not a valid excuse.
Great Post - spoken by a true Conservative woman with wisdom to boot! Thanks for standing with us against this madness -
