Like A Bunch Of Sun-Worshiping Fiddler Crabs

By
Real Estate Agent with Cherimie Crane & Associates

The best part of our annual cold snap is the day it is over! The sun rose this morning and out popped the smiling faces of the anti-cold Beaufortonians. We came crawling out like a bunch of sun-worshiping fiddler crabs.

It is safe to say it would be a challenge to find a frown on this glorious Spring-like Sunday.

The waterways are buzzing with boats and kayaks, the golf courses gleam with activity, the downtown shops and cafe's are bubbling with visitors and locals alike.

The Blue Herons, Egrets, and Ibis are soaking up the warm rays, as the turtles and gators pop their heads out of the water like fishing corks.

Did I say fishing!?!?!? It is just about that time of year again.

I admit we don't fully understand the true meaning of winter, and for that I am so grateful. We are a bit chicken when it comes to anything below 50 degrees. But let the sun shine and we come a running!

I think the weather was almost a bit too nice for my open house!

I didn't want to be stuck inside!

The good part is that I think it made the buyers realize we are officially entering the spring market!

I did like that the last of the snow and ice seem to have melted today!

I love the analogy!  Today was certainly a treat.  We rode around with the windows down, absorbing the fresh air and sunshine.

Cherimie,

The nice weather brings out lots of people here in Missouri, too.  The last couple of days have been gorgeous.

We had nice weather here too although not quite as warm as you.  We got up to 57 at one point over the weekend and that is warm especially after how cold this winter has been.

Cherimie,

Love the analogy! If someone doesn't find happiness and feel good looking @ these pictures and they need to go back to bed and start the day over!

Cherimie, you always have a beautiful way of telling a story! I love your crab comparison. I wish I were there to enjoy the rays of sun!

You always seem to paint such a lovely view both visual and by words of your community.  It certainly makes me want to visit the charming town.  Thanks again for sharing and making so inviting!

It is amazing how people "wake up" when you get a spring like day.. (ours is a bit different than yours!) I took the dog for a walk at a state park on the bay Sunday, and there were a lot of people doing the same thing... Unfortunatley the warm snap along with some windy weather broke up all of the ice on the bay.. Time to put the ice boat away, and think about getting the other boats ready for spring!
