Marchel - flocks of birds can be very scary sometimes when you run out of food. For some reason, they don't believe you.
Marchel - Great shots. When I was engaged my now husband and I were taking a walk in a park and got chased by a flock of geese because we did not have food for them. I suppose we stumbled into an area where people would feed them. The point is, as much as I love to look at this birds I won't go near them.
See what you photos did, it brought back memories that I can laugh about.
Have a great day.
Hi Marchel - That's quite a collection of ducks all hanging out together. We used to have bunches of Muscovy ducks at one of our homes. People always thought they were so ugly - they're different, not ugly!!!
Marchel, We have the "challenge" of Canada geese - they don't migrate anymore - thet just come and stay, Karen
Marchel
And the darn thing is those boogers can really bite when they are mad!
Hi Marchel....was that the Aflack Goose! We have good sized Canadian geese fly through and they like swans will change your day if you get to close. Nice photos.
Marchel....I am sorry but your post here is strictly for the birds, LOL, they are beautiful, I couldn't eat one of them now for anything. Really nice shots too. Thanks for brightening up our day. Again.
We had a really cool park that had a TON of ducks (in California). All those ducks were there from when I was 9 until I left 4 1/2 years ago. Okay, maybe not the same exact ducks. But, the park is still there and in one piece. They built things around it, but the pond (which is large) still remains in the middle with all the ducks. Very cool
SHIRLEY, They were a flock of very disappointed ducks and geese as I came with a camera and NO FOOD.
ROBERT, There's nothing quite like an angry bird!
DIANE, We lived in North Carolina for 2 1/2 years. We backed up to a little lake and thought it was cute to feed the geese. That is until they started coming in to our garage to get their food if we forgot. They can be downright mean!
DEBBIE, I do miss feeding the ducks and geese. The Woodlands are building some lakes close to us so who knows maybe we will have some friends to feed again.
KAREN ANNE, I use to call them the ugly ducks but I think they are growing on me as they don't look that ugly to me anymore.
RUSSELL, I think it was the other way around. Since I did not bring dinner I was the cooked goose.
MIKE, I don't know if you noticed the last picture but it was taken from the safety of my car for just that reason. They were not pleased that I had no food!!
JENNIFER, What a cute story!! Geese can be downright mean when they have no food. I wondered what the flapping of wings meant but then I quickly caught on it meant to take my pictures from the safety of my car.
GAIL, I have to admit I always called them ugly ducks but the more I see them the more they seem to grow on me. Our first introduction was when we moved to North Carolina. I don't remember seeing any ducks like that in Colorado. Maybe they are fair weather ducks.
KAREN, Canadian Geese can be downright mean when they think you should be feeding them.
TREY, Thank goodness I have not gotten close enough to be bit.
GARY, That kind of does look like the Aflack goose! The geese were the two that were running at me flapping their wings. It looked cute at first but not so cute when they were getting closer.
BOB, You are right it is a for the birds post!! They were fun but hungry and all I had was a camera. One month until our son comes home!!
JOHN, What a fun childhood memory!! We had ducks and geese the two years we lived in North Carolina. We enjoyed watching them.
Hi Marchel,
Great name!!
I sense a bird theme going on here with these pics...lol
Marchel, we have had flocks of geese flying through the area lately but I haven't been able to get a photo of them.
Marchel -- My cat has been looking at some geese that have been on our property -- fortunately they are too big for her to seriously consider! Wonderful pictures.
These ducks were a hoot Marchel. I have been attacked by geese when I was in there space, so you best bring bread crumbs next time around.
TONY, I did notice quite a few bird pictures so I think you might be right.
DEBBIE, I had not thought of that but there were more ducks than geese.
RICH, These guys were very tame so it was no problem getting a picture but would have been safer have I had dinner with me.
JOAN, I don't think your cat would like tangling with those geese. I expect they would have the upper hand.
GARY WOLTAL, I thought they were a hoot also; especially when I was sitting in the safety of my car taking pictures
Well that's not very nice of you not to take some food with you. Shame on you, Marchel! LOL
I can only imagine these ducks and geese wouldn't have been happy if they thought you were supposed to have brought food with you.
There's a lake at the entrance to a subdivision where one of my Clients lives. It's always full of ducks and geese. I'll sometimes go walking over there since there are a lot of walking paths.
RUSSELL, When those geese came running at me flapping those wings I decided it was a good time to get in my car.
CHRISTINE, They were not happy campers. I learned when you visit them you are NOT supposed to come empty handed.
JIM, I love walking beside a lake. There's nothing quite as tranquil.
