Charlotte's Housing Market

By
Real Estate Agent with Southern Homes of the Carolinas

As a Charlotte area Realtor, I appreciated the article that I read on Charlotte.com by Stella M. Hopkins and Ted Mellnik.  It pointed out that while home prices in the Charlotte area did fall last year, things are not as bad as some make them out to be.  It also explains why we're not feeling the pain in Charlotte as much as they are in other areas of the country.  Everyone talks about bubbles bursting and it clearly points out in this article that Charlotte's housing market did not behave in this way, and for this reason does not have as much to recover from in the long run.  However, it still needs to be noted that Charlotte does still need to recover from the current housing market.  It was interesting to read the zip codes that had declines last year and the zip codes that continued to gain.  None of which were a surprise, but still very interesting.

Read the entire article titled Your Home's Worth to gain a better understanding of the true conditions of Charlotte's housing market.
