During the rise and heyday of Las Vegas some very famous celebrities took their respites here. Everyone from the members of the Rat Pack to Sidney Sheldon had a place in this community and the public knew about it. Back then the area was known as the Beverly Hills of Palm Springs. It was certainly the place to be back then and many legends were created in and amongst the star studded parties and evening soirees. As with all things dazzling and sparkly, Vista Las Palmas began to lose its shine and the beautiful people opted for places like Rancho Mirage over Palm Springs. The neighborhoods of this community were forgotten and all but fell into ruin. Then in the late 1990's Vista Las Palmas had a distinct and rapid rebirth complete with starts once again. Now the community sports 350 mostly modern houses of varying styles. Values have skyrocketed and people are flocking back to enjoy the beauty and privacy Vista Las Palmas has to offer. It is once again the place to be.
The social life in Las Palmas is still fervent and alive if not quite as rowdy as the old days of Frank Sinatra and his boys. The mix of people who choose to live in Vista Las Palmas are family oriented, diverse and span all age ranges although in recent years there has been a surge of 30 something's moving into the area.
