How old is your picture?

I know we've all seen agents using pictures that were at LEAST 50 years old... but I'm wondering if you're willing to 'fess up about how old your picture is.  Mine's 7 years old; not too bad really.  I still look pretty much the same anyway.  How about you?  Who's got the oldest picture posted here?  How do you determine when it's time to get new pictures done?  If you have a mullett (spelling?) in your picture, it's probably time to get them re-done.  Or big hair... unless you're from the south; big hair never seems to go out in the south...  If people start asking if the picture is of your daughter... probably time for new pics (especially for you men out there).

My photo is my 'sweet 16'' picture. Think it's time to change? LOL

Carla, you have a GREAT picture!  I can understand why you've kept it.  Mine is 3 or 4 years old - it's the best business photo I ever got, and I think I'll keep it until no one recognizes me from it any more...   :o)

My photo is a year old.  I have lost weight since I took my photo so I plan on having a new one taken soon.  I have seen the glamour shot photos that my fellow Agents have had done and they look great !!

I don't think I would ever use a Glamour Shot as my professional picture, but mine is professionally done, none the less.  It's probably (gulp) 9 years old already!  I had been using one that was only 3 years old, but the image quality wasn't as good.  I use it on other sites though, just to change it up a bit.

Carla, I do not like having my picture taken, but I always use a current photo. There is an agent in my town who uses her picture from like 30 years ago, it is frequently mentioned to me by consumers. So my advice is to keep it current. :)

This is a great question! I have always wondered that, and who may 'fess up'

Mine is two years old.

Carla,

The photo I use on AR is from 2007 but I do use one from 1998 on one website.

When I started in the biz, my broker used a photo that was at least 20 years old and 100 pounds lighter. There were people that would meet her with her business card or an ad in hand and not recognize her.

I see a lot of pictures of agents, but I have a hard time trying to recognize the agents in person, since their pictures all seem to be 10+ years old. I was hoping to keep mine at least that long, since I really don't like to be in front of a camera!

I was just involved in a deal with another agent here. This agent advertises heavily; bench ads, has her picture on her yard signs, local newspaper, etc. When I met her to present the offer I didn't even recognize her. The picture she uses is about twenty years old. It was all I could do not to comment on it. I wanted to ask her why she was using her daughter's picture in her advertising but thought it best not to. :)

Vanity aside, please people, keep your photo fairly current. I don't think that's too much to ask, is it? Within two years? Please?

Mine is only 6 months old and I try to update it at least once a year. I did go more than a year once and people started to ask how old the picture was, because it didn't look like me.

I like to believe I haven't changed all that much in the last several years.  Especially because people who I've never met seem to recognize me easily when they've seen my photo.  Good thing my little lines by my eyes wouldn't show up in the photos (much) anyway!  :)  I do plan to get some new pro photos taken, just gotta make the time for it.
