Website almost ready, what next?

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Dream Realty

OK, so my website should be ready in a couple weeks.  I am excited and anxious, but what next??  How do I promote my website?  Yahoo, Google, MSN, etc...  I have joined some profile websites, told family and friends, but what next?  Maybe I am a little late to the game.  I have always relied on someone else to have a website and take care of all that "stuff".  Now, it all on me.

I write this blog because I know all of you have been where I am, but somehow most of you have succeded.  I am sure that by the grace of god I will figure all of this out, and make my way to the top, but the task is daunting.

So, I ask all of you successful realtors that own websites, tell me some of you secrets.  Let me know a couple tricks of the trade.  I am located here in Frisco, Texas, so if you live in this area and don't want to share you trade secrets I can understand.  However if you are halfway accross the country shoot me an email and let me know a couple things I can do to enhance my website.

Thank you,

Matt Anderson

Matt:  One of the "tricks of the trade"... is definitely NOT inserting links that lead back to your website... in the comments of the posts you comment on.  It is comment spam... and not fair to the person writing the original post.  You will find that if you are fair to the people you comment on... that they will be fair to you.  Have a great day !

Karen, I am sorry you took it the wrong way.  I will take your tip, however anytime you want to put a link on my blog, go for it.  I guess you SEO is not very strong, if you need assistance with this.  Call me and I can walk you through the process.  God bless.

Matt:  I am glad your SEO is strong.  It is just that your links do not belong on anyone else's post comments but yours.  Please remove the two links from your comment on my Centex post... or I will have to delete your entire comment.  Thank you so much.  Take care... have a great day.

Matt,

I havent read the post and I'm not sure if the comment was spam or not. But the good thing about commenting is the ability to obtain a link back to your site and the blog owner is able to gain content, so its a win-win.

IMO if Karen would like for you to remove your links, you should. However, if you remove your link then you should also remove your comment too.
