Wordless Wednesday - Thanks to our Veterans!

Mom and I attended the midyear conference in Washington DC in May 2008.  We couldn't resist visiting some of the monuments.  This is a photo of my mom, Marian Goetzinger, expressing thanks to four WW II veterans in front of the Vietnam Memorial Wall.   Do you see where her hands are?  I think she made the day of these fine gentlemen.  It was a pleasure getting to know them, and hearing their stories.  They were there to honor a fellow veteran and got a little teary eyed as we said Thank You.  God Bless America!

Nice memories.  Both of my parents served and I just love the pride that our "Greatest Generation" served us with such honor.  Thanks for sharing!

Hi Amy - Thank you for your comments on veterans.  It is important to remember them and the service they gave to our country in a time of need.  The most rewarding trip I ever made was when I took my father to Hawaii.  He was a WWII veteran and was stationed in Hawaii in January (following Pearl Harbor).  We had a great time and he was able to recall many of his experiences while stationed there.  We traveled around the island and went to places he had been while there.  It's a trip I'll always remember.

Great job remembering our veterans Amy!

I see from your "wordless" Wednesday post that you're kind of like me....the wordless part seems to elude us!!! But it was worth reading it nonetheless!
