Lesson Learned From A Hall of Famer

By
Education & Training with Tom Ferry-yourcoach

I just finished reading an article about the great Troy Aikman, Dallas Cowboys, Hall of Fame Quarterback ... that I think we can all learn from!

Although he has had an illustrious career on the field and now he's a popular broadcaster, he promised his mother one thing almost 2 decades ago ...

That he would graduate from college.

Well, it took him almost 20 years and three Superbowl Victories, but Aikman has gone back at UCLA and finished up his two final courses to complete his degree in Sociology. He will walk with the graduating class of 2009 in June. He told the media he's "finally taking care of unfinished business."

So my question to you is ... What unfinished business do you have to do that you need to take on right now?

For some of us, its simply getting our website in order, returning phone calls at the end of the day, calling that sometimes-difficult client, replying to your web leads ... or maybe its bigger than that ...

I know we all have business that we leave undone. This "undone" work tends to weight us down, limiting us from moving forward. Sometimes we get so ‘trapped" in the work that we don't want to touch, we become unable to react and move forward, leaving us paralyzed in guilt and frustration. This is no way to lead a powerful real estate business, or lead your life for that matter.

Why don't we all commit today to tackling one project that we have been dreading or putting off???

Once we get it done, trust me, that nagging weight will lift from your shoulders and it will make it easier to move on to other projects and tasks you have to complete! Go for it and see what happens!

Congrats to Troy. I bet he's making his mother proud!

Great blog ... you got me thinking. I have a house full of papers that I need to attack and move into my office. Ugh, but I need to tackle.
