We recently lost our Abby. We thought we would not get another dog but our son who is serving in Iraq wants a dog here to greet him so we found a Golden Retriver 10 month old rescue. He is so sweet but our cats are NOT HAPPY!!
Marchel - Isn't it amazing how cats can strike facial expresions like no other animal. There is no doubt what is on that cat's mind.
SHIRLEY,We named him Dundy. My daughter took pictures but this was the one on her Flickr site that just said it all. I plan to write a post about him soon but have been so busy selling real estate which is a good thing.
LINDA,The problem is this one is de-clawed. Our other cat is not and he has been telling him who is boss. At this point he thinks it is fun to make them run.
GARY WOLTAL,This is a very expressive kitty!! If looks could kill (lol)!!
GAIL, You have hit the nail on the head supreme arrogance ultimately irritated that just about describes her!
WILLIAM, I'm sorry to hear about your loss also. They become such a part of our family. We forgot about this puppy stage and this guy is already 10 months old. I'm sure they will eventually get along but I don't think this dog will be giving them baths like Abby did.
I'm sorry to hear about your loss of Abby. You're right, your cat looks highly displeased.
This one reminds me so much of my Little Kitty.....he can really get an attitude. Look at those ears.....a sure sign !
Marchel, Staking territory:-) Congratulations on the new addition to yoru family.
I had to just sit there and stare at that little kitty for a few minutes. The expression is priceless. Sorry to hear about Abby, but welcome to the new puppy.
CHRISTINE, She is highly displeased. I tried to bring her down to be social this evening but she was so far under my daughter's bed I could not get her. I guess it is just going to take time.
JOHN, This is my daughter's cat and she can be a cat with an attitude.
JANE, She can give the looks. At the moment she is hanging out under our daughter's bed; she is quite ticked.
ANN, So you have one of those cats with an attitude also. Our male cat doesn't give quite the looks; he just says "bring it on". He has whopped the new puppy several times now.
REBECCA, The cats are wondering what happened to their orderly world. I don't think this dog will be giving them baths anytime soon like our Abby did.
JIM, She can give the expressions!!! She isn't too sure about this new pup either. He is 10 months old so part of that puppy stage is over with. He has so much energy.
Marchel: Well... If I were Elle... I'd be pretty irritated, too. But, I am sure it will not take her long to lay down the law and explain the rules to the new puppy. Thanks for sharing.
Good for you -- talk about Attiitude - I have found that after a while the cat and dog will be best of friends.
TERESA, This is Elle. Abby was the dog that we lost. We have named our new friend Dundy but Elle is not happy about the whole ordeal.
KAREN ANNE, Our male cat Calvin has laid down the law. I don't know how many times Dundy got whopped but he now keeps his distance. Calvin has been cracking us up. He struts around like "just try it". Calvin really did the dirty work for Elle but she has not figured that out yet. He has claws and she does not; which gives her a disadvantage.
JOAN, I think it is going to be a while before Elle is friends with Dundy but I'm sure that someday it will happen. He may have to get over some of his puppy energy before that happens.
there Marchel, my friend
Sure do like the looks of your kitty cat there. Sorry to hear Y'all lost your pet family member Abby. Also gald Y'all got your selves a new puppy dog. The kittys will get use to the new puppy.
Marchel WE had 2 cats and 1 Golden Retriever - they got along fine - we did learn though to put the cat food on the washer and dryer, Karen
DALE, I'm sure with time she will but in the meantime I have scrapes on my arm from dragging her out from under the bed. Dundy is so sweet but he just has all the puppy energy going on.
KAREN, I learned that cat food lesson from our chocolate lab. I'm now feeding the two cats seperate so one is on the dryer and the other one is on a file cabinet. The fat one which would be this one is now on a wet diet as the dry food had too many carbs.
I can't imagine introducing a dog to our two cats. They already don't know what to think about our new grandbaby! This is a classic cat pose :)
Stand CLEAR!! And we used to do the same thing as Karen, put the food on the W/D!
I know it has been sad since losing Abby! have a good week my friend!
Marchel that picture is toooo funny! I witnessed something like this on a recent listing appointment. The owner had a Rottweiler that he "put up". It was when we went to the back yard to take pictures that i inquired about his pet (for he was not visibly seen). When the owner pointed to the front seat of his pick-up truck i couldn't believe what i saw! His pet was steadily looking ahead, stoically still, adamant, and ticked off!!! I could only see his face from the side angle, but it was so apparent that he had a SERIOUS 'TUDE!!! I sensed he was thinking, "I wish she'd hurry up and get OFF OF MY PROPERTY SO I CAN GET BACK IN!!!" LOL (Same look that Elle has).
I too was touched about the loss of your Abby after reading your story and am sorry with you. Hopefully your many precious memories will help keep you sustained.
FRANK, Our male cat has accepted the dog but he also has claws. Our female is still scared to death. I have included a picture of this fierce dog (lol). He just wants to be her friend but he has a lot of puppy energy.
RUSSELL, I am now feeding our male cat on the dryer. We have the fat female on a wet diet so she doesn't get so many carbs. She is probably going to lose weight from worrying about this fierce dog.
DIANE, I upgraded my cell phone today and there was a picture of our Abby. It is amazing how many people use pictures of Chocolate labs in their advertising. I do miss her but Dundy is keeping our lives lively.
