The Secret and The Law of Attraction

Interesting thought for today...

There are a lot of fans of the wildly successful movie called The Secret. The Secret movie is basically about the law of attraction and how you can bring good things into your life as a result of being mindful of them.

I am a super optimist. I have a huge filter in my mind where I try not to let any negative thoughts into my mind. I know what you focus on you get. I just have one minor knock against "The Secret". 

There is a second universal law in the world and that is called the law of action.

Real estate agents don't get paid to sit around and think about how they are going to attract business to them, they get paid because they got into action and brought business towards them via their actions.

Hmmm....I sound like a naysayer. I have learned that you cannot sit around and wait for business to come to you.  Nothing will come to you.

Let's do a mid-month review for where I am
I have gone on or have booked 6 listing appointments this month. My goal is 10. I have taken 2 listings thus far. My goal is 4 listings taken per month. So, I am 2 listing away from getting my goal of 4 on the market.  I am short 2 for the month.

Do you think the law of attraction is going to help me go out and find my 2 new listings? I don't think so. My biggest competitor to making this happen is me. All I need to do is follow the law of action and I will get the business I need to make sure that the income flows in.

Today, set your sights on a goal. Make an achievable goal. Think of 15 people you can contact who need to conduct some real estate business.

Please make sure you pre-qualify them in the conversation before you spend your precious time with them.

I'd be interested in know what results you get tomorrow from the action you take today.

Last night, I made 2 extra calls in the evening. I usually like to shut down after dinner. On those 2 calls, I reached 2 "live" people. In one conversation, I asked the prospect if they were still considering the other agent. The answer was "well, she is really nice". My response was "there are a lot of nice people in the world, but will they impress your bank teller". After that she said "well, we are leaning towards you".  I think I am call away from that 400k listing.
I did not attract it. I took action.
