I learned a tidbit today about my beloved compact flourescent bulbs that have saved me so much money in the last few months. They're made with Mercury. Yep. They are considered hazardous waste. Does that mean I'll stop using them? Absolutely not. Seven years from now when I have to replace them, I'll call my city hazardous waste service and have them safely disposed of along with my excess paint and lawn chemicals.
