Active Rain Isn't Just For YOU!

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Compass 0524642

Cruising through Active Rain I find Agents, loan officers, title companies, home stagers and other closely related Industry professionals.

Everyone here enjoys the juice. It's free & it helps get your name "out there."

So why aren't other small business owners like Handy Men, Electricians, Landscaping Companies, Plumbers, Cabinet Makers, Travel Agencies, Moving Companies and OTHER arena type professionals jumping in?

1

Are they just confused about this place?

I think AR would benefit and so would all of us if the web we're spinning were to reach other branches so to speak...

But what do I know?

What do you think? Do you think a family owned Moving Company would greatly benefit from Active Rain? I think we all could! Heck it's FREE! That employee whose playing on the internet could BLOG! for their company & have fun while doing so!

Hi Greg... It is an interesting thought to ponder.  My question would be where does it all end?  And when does A|R cease to be a Real Estate niche focused destination and simply another Yahoo, Facebook or Linked-In?  In my experience "bigger is better" is always a good rallying cry until bigger ceases to be better.

I hope Active Rain will stay true to it's focus on real estate.  Steve makes a great point in my opinion.  If we allow AR to become dilluted, then we are no differennt that Yahoo, Facebook or Linked-In.  I believe part of AR's success is because it hasn't lost it's intended focus.

A moving company would be a fantastic addition.  I think its just a matter of time before more people start realized how this site could be beneficial to them.

Hi Greg. I like Active Rain being strictly focused on Real Estate. I spend much more time here than on other sites because of that. Interested in your responses.

Hi Greg!  You know, my heart says bring them all but, my brain asks, as does Steve's, where does it end?    Something to consider...

I talk about the site to everyone I know.  Last week I invited a professional organizer after she mentioned she does a lot of work with estate sales.  I am with you on this one.  If there is a connection to real estate bring them on.

I have some close friends that own a very successful storage facility.  I have talked with them about blogging, but unfortunately, most people don't understand what blogging is and how it can benefit their businesses.  At least I've found that to be true in my area.

I like that AR will make a much bigger push for this as soon as Localism comes out of beta and they get the bugs fixed.

All good points. I'd be interested in what the AR staff would have to say..

I was just thinking about that today, im not sure why. I'd actually hate to see if SOO commercialized.  I think the group we have that is directly related to home purchasing is good.  But then again, you make a good point about the moving company though. :-)

I think the more bloggers we have on a varity of subjects the more we all learn.  Who knows, the new company may find their next REALTOR(r) here on AR, what if it is someone about to start a new subdivision and you get exclusive listing rights?  Woo Hoo!
