Why do I need a home inspection?

Home Inspector with All City Inspections

Buying a home could be the largest single investment you will ever make. To minimize unpleasant surprises and unexpected difficulties, you'll want to learn as much as you can about the newly constructed or existing house before you buy it. A home inspection may identify the need for major repairs or builder oversights, as well as the need for maintenance to keep it in good shape. After the inspection, you will know more about the house, which will allow you to make decisions with confidence.

If you already are a homeowner, a home inspection can identify problems in the making and suggest preventive measures that might help you avoid costly future repairs.

If you are planning to sell your home, a home inspection can give you the opportunity to make repairs that will put the house in better selling condition.

It never seems to amaze me to the insight that a home inspector gives to a home.  In just attics alone, we have found wrong insulation, garbage and one time even no insulation at all on a new home.  There are molds, mildews, etc that can be forming in the attic as well if they are not insulated properly.  Then in the house itself, even something as little as a reverse polarity in a plug it a real danger if using certain appliances.  And then there are the suggestions--- like putting GFCI breaker plugs in the kitchen (Not code in our area) in case something falls in the sink while doing dishes.  Small price to pay for a life.

Anyway, inspections are always worth the small price you pay.  Even if you think you can do it yourself, get a pro.
