Ok so I had the MOST embarrasing first meeting with a client.  In fact I don't think I will share it quite yet.  BUT, I needed to hear your stories to help me get over the hump of feeling so......so silly!

So what's your most embarrassing Realtor (or Professional) moment to date?

I had a client I was showing property too, he was a single guy and after we found a home he liked he asked if he could show it to his mother before he put an offer in.  So the day, and the first time I was meeting her, a neighbor was smoking pot next door.  The mother said wow it smells like coffee, the clients giggled and walked away.  Then the mother look at me and said, "I don't think thats coffee"

Lexa - don't feel silly. We all make mistakes and need to be able to laugh at ourselves. Life cannot be too serious.

I met some referral clients in the field to show them a couple of homes. I had talked to them on the phone but we had never met. We drove up to the house, parked in the driveway (both our cars) and I went up to the door to find the lockbox. Not there, so I walked around the house, through the back yard, and even knocked on the door...just in case. I finally realized that we were at the house next door. The sign was positioned a little funny and I pulled into the wrong driveway. I guess it sunk it when I looked at the house and the MLS listing and realized I was in front of a two-story and the home we were going to see was a single story. I felt pretty dumb - fortunately no one was home when I was tramping aroud the back yard grumbling about the lockbox I could not find. :)

Work in land acquisition, development and marketing for new homes.  When underground utilities are first dug and re-covered with dirt, the ground can be soft in the area near the property line where utilities are run.

Once while lightly raining I was helping a buyer choose a building lot. I got out alone to check to make sure I had the correct corner marker for the buyers who were sitting in my car. While looking at this survey pin where the underground utilities had recently been dug, I stepped into the freshly re-covered area for utilities.  One leg immediately went down into the mud up to my knee- in a silk suit no less - wasnt' sure I would be able to pull my leg out but managed, shoe and all -  jumped back in my Hummer and continued showing property.  The Buyers laughed until they cried but bought.........................
