Everyone is familiar with the phrase "it's a small world." We often use these words when upon meeting someone for the first time we discover that we both have a close friend in common. You both know each other through someone else. I'm sure many of us come accross it in our daily real estate activity and this is a little story about a recent occurrence of a similar event in my life.
I was doing an open house at Bradley Commons, the new construction luxury townhouses off Saugatuck Ave. in Westport. A local couple came in and we struck up a nice conversation and I soon learned that they had four children, one of which was my age. Our discussion turned to a love of mine, musical theatre. Westport has a well-renowned, extremely accomplished youth theatre program known as the Staples Players. During my first two summers of college I had the good fortune to have the leading role in two of their productions, Jesus Christ Superstar in which I played Jesus and Footloose in which I played Ren (Kevin Bacon's role in the movie). It turned out that not only had these folks seen me in both productions, their daughter that was my age played keyboards for Jesus Christ Superstar.
It's a small world and it continues to get smaller everyday. I mean, who would have ever thought that Jesus would be selling condos in Westport?!?
