What does your Power Hour look like daily?

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty - The Hatcher Group

I've seen many blogs about lead generation and different thoughts on what that represents.  At KW we use a prospecting for business technique called "Power Hour".  The principal is simple, if every agent spent at least one hour per day prospecting for business (lead generation has a negative connotation for many) either face-to-face or on the phone, then the likelyhood of business increasing would rise.  It's all about getting the appointment first, consulting and converting comes after that.  So during these challenging times the question becomes, what does your Power Hour look like daily?

Paul, I believe I have more like a power 3 hours. I'm not big on phone calls but do spend the first few hours of everyday mailing out to expired listings(been doing that for 14 years) and responding to my internet leads (I get about 20 a day). These are the activities that get me business so I do them first. The rest of the day I just sit out by the poo land work on my tan!! Only in my dreams.

Paul, I agree with you in that you need to get the appointment first!  Without the appointment, there is nothing.  Nice post.

In these slow econominc times it is a great opportunity for agents to learn and impliment systems that will enable them to automate their business and structure their business plan.

My power hour consists of prospecting with lots of phone calls to all leads to generate new business! If I do this religiously, it is very helpful!

You are right we need to spend as much time as we can prospecting to get the business.

Paul:  Great Post!  I have a couple of new agents that I mentor; and I tell them that 80% of real estate has to be about generating leads.

Great Post, Paul. I agree, Power Hour is an absolute MUST for our businesses in a time when the market has such a negative connotation. In addition, it helps us to establish habits that will benefit our businesses in ANY market. My Power Hour varies between 1-4 hours per day. I dont make phone calls because I'm more of a face-to-face type person, so I door knock religiously!!! It has made a tremendous impact on my business!!
