Remember back when you were little? How did you celebrate President's Day? I remember spending hours at school celebrating our first president on Washington's day. Remember the cherry tree? That was a great story on honesty. There was a separate day when we celebrated Lincoln's day. We learned how he cared about freedom and every individual.
How many of you are old enough to remember celebrating both days? I'll be 63 next week, and I'm certainly old enough! All of a sudden one year all presidents were rolled into one great day where we can take time to honor all honest, hard working and caring presidents of this great United States of America. We are grateful for this day to spend time appreciating the hours of time and great sacrifices our presidents have made in preserving this great country and our valuable freedoms.
I remember my parents teaching me that we all study out the issues and select which president we will vote for. But after the election, we should all rally around the president and support him. That's how life should be. That's what I hope we're all doing. Are we?
All of us should be running around loving each other, doing for each other and making each other smile. All of us should be making our homes and communities great. That's the best way to make our country great. It all starts with us, and it all starts right here and right now. Do you agree?
I was thinking about the good ol' days yesterday. In those days it seems like we were positive and supportive of our president and our country. We tried to lift and build--not tear down. I hope we will all to that! I hope the news will be about the positive things that our government leaders are doing and the successes that are occurring.
I hope the news will include the positive things happening in every community. I believe that is what is needed to boost our economy for those having problems. We don't just want to hear the negative. We want to know that there is more positive in this country than negative, and we want to hear about it, also. Is there any way to make that happen?
It sounds like the stimulus package has passed and that the President will sign it into law on Tuesday. Is that right? Well, I find myself hoping that this package will help start the miracle rolling to help the small percentage of people that are struggling, so that we can all enjoy life, love much and smile big!
