Richard, this is a good one and good timing on the shot. This guy doesn't even need a co-pilot.
Richard, gear down, flaps down and clear for runway 38 foot Hunter. Have a great day. kevincavanaughonline.com
Richard-that is a beautiful picture and oh so close! Yikes..imagine that..to be free like a bird!
This is really getting scary. A long time ago, a friend who is into falconry was called down to Dover Air Force Base to see if his falcons could help control the bird populartion that was interfering with the engines of those huge planes.
birds in flight are one of the most beautiful things to witness if you just stop and take it in!
I would love to have the ability to fly like a bird. Thank you for the great picture.
We just watched the Hitchcock movie "The Birds"
Thanks for the reminder! lol
your friend in Charlottesville!
Birds in flight are so amazing...this is a truly great photo and I don't know if I would have stayed in that path........
That is an awesome picture. How did you get the bird to wait until you got the shot. If I try to take a photo like this, all you can see is the sky, the bird is long gone.
Mike, Every once in a while I get lucky with animal shots.
Kevin, I couldn't see it at the time but you're right, the flaps are down for a landing.
Naoma, I stood my ground and he/she missed.
Midori, I'll bet a lot of people think about that.
Konnie, The dock was kind of littered with bomblets.
Janice, I've seen shows on falcons being used and they're very effective.
Charles, There's only one bird in this shot but trust me, he wasn't alone on the dock.
Julie, I usually don't do very well getting them in flight but this one did come out pretty well.
Lynn, Pretty hard to take a good shot wearing a hat. Sometimes you just have to take one for the team.
Anne, My camera can take six shots a second. Some of it was timing, some of it was location and a lot of it was luck.
Jim, I'm pretty hard of hearing and didn't know there was a kid behind me on the dock dropping bread.
What a shot! LOVE the lines and the curves of the wings...wonderful composition. Perfect!
Wow, Rich, Fabulous shot! It's always exciting to get a bird in flight!
Debi
Rich - I love that shot, I love animal shots in general. Beautiful. ~Rita
