One fish, Two fish, oh wait... it's about the BIG fish!

When it comes to fishing tournaments that is!  Lake Sinclair and Little River Park are home to several fishing tournaments each year. This photo was taken of Austin Nix by his fishing partner and grandfather Jerrill Ewing in May of 2005 at one of those many fishing tournaments.  Austin and Jerrill still fish a lot.

  1. Prizes can range from a few hundred dollars to $6,000.  There are also times when boats and fishing gear are prizes as well.
  2. Tournaments are spread out throughout the year on lake Sinclair.  Some upcoming dates are:
  •

  • February 28, 2009
  • April 18, 2009
  • May 16, 2009
  • July 12, 2008

By clicking on each of the fish you will be directed to web sites with more and specific information about Lake Sinclair Tournaments as well as on-line registration opportunities, hotel and restaurant information as well as prizes for specified tournaments.

If you are not into tournament fishing, but just want to fish for fun or even for dinner you'll be very happy to know that Lake Sinclair as reported by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources has no limitations on how often you can eat fish and our lake has been found chemical free. Other Georgia Lakes are in this report as well and Lake Sinclair's report can be found on page 12.

So in the summer you can swim and water ski, but year-round the fishing on Lake Sinclair is fantastic.  And if you decide that you really love fishing on Lake Sinclair I'd be happy to help you find your fishing cabin on our little 15,000 acre lake.  Call me today!

I miss fishing.  Not much fishing in LA...I need to take a weekend off and get my kids out on a dock somewhere...that is great family time.

We have some of the very best bass fishing in the "Stick Marsh" about 30 minutes away from me. I used to go fishing quite often but haven't had time lately. Thanks for reminding me of how important it is to get back in the great outdoors and away from the computer.

I don't LOVE to fish, but I like to go fishing.  I don't touch bait and I don't touch fish.  Kind of hard for me to actually fish.  But I do enjoy being out on the dock, in the quiet, waiting and watching the cork.  And just so you know... yes my daddy spoiled me and didn't make me touch worms... and my husband baits my hook now.  My kind of fishing.

Tammy:  I can't imagine it now, but as a kid my Dad used to take me trout fishing.  I loved it.  This sounds like it would be fun.

Tammy,

I love fishing. Trouble is, I just don't get to get out as much as I would like.  Thanks for sharing

Have a great day

Chris Ann, I went out in the boat fishing with my parents about 6 weeks before my daughter was born and slid off the seat into the floor.  I couldn't get up and my mom was laughing to hard to help me up.  That was the best fishing trip I remember.

Leander- Take the time,

Suesan- That's great.  I loved to go when I was a kid.  Had a great uncle with a bait and tackle shop here on the lake.  Loved to be there.  I also learned to swim there.

Hi Tammy, Nice post.  I love to fish. Can't wait for the weather to break. Well my hubby says I don't really fish.  I just like to read in the sun on the boat. That's the best fishing for me. Hope you are doing well.

This looks like fun Tammy. We have a kids fishing tournament here in Southport every year...also a crab derby.  I really like your blog and the "click on the fish" links.

fishing in maineI can see that I am holding my catch of the day all wrong. I was totally unaware you had to craddle the fish, present it to the camera.

No Elizabeth- I think when it's a nice looking lady in a swim suit, you are doing it just right.  I'm sure no one would want you to cover up with a fish. LOL
