Unclogging your bathroom drains may seem an odd topic for a real estate blog but I'm so impressed with a product my wife brought home that I think I'll give it (and my
wife) a plug.
"Zip-It" is a 24" long plastic doohickey with soft teeth (costs about $4 at Walgreens) that pretty much eliminates the need for expensive and caustic chemical drain cleaners. Just stick the device in the offending drain, swirl it around a bit and yank it out.
I had a chance to test drive it this morning when my shower drain started gasping and gulping. I'll spare you a graphic description of the gunk that I exhumed but the drain immediately gave a sigh of relief and started, well, draining.
Another blow struck for the environment - No longer will I wallow in guilt about dumping toxic chemicals into the water supply. Now where do I bury what I fished out of the drain?
