That's right.  Your favourite home staging television show is returning for Season 2.  Here are the tentative premiere dates:

HGTV Canada - Premiere airs April 1, 2009 at 10:30 p.m. PT / 8:30 p.m. ET

HGTV USA - Premier airs April 6, 2009 at 10:30 p. m. PT / 8:30 p.m. ET

I've heard through associates of mine that work with the show that there have been some major changes to this season.  The producers have been listening to feedback and have incorporated some of the concerns and highlights from blogs on the Active Rain network to make it an even better show.

Here are a few of the changes that are in store for viewers:

  • a more informative format;
  • some new Stagers from different fields of design;
  • less conflict, yet great drama.

I for one can't wait to watch Season 2 of The Stagers!  How about you?

Charlene ~ I've been wondering when this was going to start up again.  April seems so far away though!  I'm really looking forward to it and to seeing the changes they are implementing.  I hope you'll be reviewing again (?) : )

Charlene ~ Yay!  I'm a big fan of the show ... but will be hoping the new season emphasizes staging more and drama/conflict a bit less.  Thanks for letting us know.  For some reason, I can't get two images out of my head from Season 1:  Matthew's Cow Ottoman (I actually almost bought one about a month ago, then decided against it!); and this great line as he's leaving an occupied property after staging it:  "Don't touch anything!"

I am hoping for some changes as I had some problems with the show overall.  I will start out watching anyway.

Great news! Brings more attention to staging, the more the better! Maureen, I also loved that line "Don't touch anything!" I may start using it. I also liked his other line: "I'm the stager, I decide" or something similar. Can't wait to see the new shows!

I'm looking forward to these new episodes, too, especially those that promise less drama and more information about staging.  I've really missed the familair shows on HGTV that feature staging, like "Get it Sold".  It seems like "House Hunters" is on tv every time I turn it on!

Last season I taped all the shows so I could fast forward through the "emotional" outbursts.

Maybe this season I'll be able to watch it without the fast forward

I loved the show and your reviews!! I still watch my tapes of Matthew's shows-he is so talented!!   I did not care for some of the things the mother-daughter did, especially wearing the deceased owners fur coats while staging or covering up stained carpets with rugs, but the show in my opinion is good for the staging industry.

The second season's first episode on HGTV in the U.S. actually airs on Tuesday, April 7 at 10:30 Eastern, and features Matthew and Rukiya (who's now a "stager-in-training"). Can't wait!

I now have The Stagers on my auto record for the DVR, so that I won't miss it.  Caught the new first episode and really enjoyed it.  Matthew seemed a bit more relaxed, although his frantic-self was still there.  I enjoyed how he let his associate/assistant ? Devina do some of her own staging while he stepped back and assisted her.  AND the loft looked great!
